Registration Terms and Conditions

Organization of the 42nd FEBS Congress

FEBS has appointed the ISBMB to host the 2017 Congress (the "Congress"), supported by a local Congress Secretariat, Kenes International Congress Organizers Ltd ("Kenes"). Kenes is responsible for organizational aspects of the Congress for participants. On registering for the event, participants (also referred to as "you") are entering an agreement with Kenes.  By registering to the Congress, you are indicating your acceptance to the terms and conditions set out below.

Registration Fee

Registration Fees for different categories of Congress participant and application periods are shown here.

Registration Fee for participants covers:

  • Admission to all scientific sessions
  • Entrance to poster & exhibition area
  • Lunches, coffee breaks, and light snacks
  • Name badge and all printed materials
  • Invitation to welcome reception

Registration Fee for Accompanying Persons Covers:

  • Participation in the Congress first day
  • Invitation to welcome reception

Please note that all registration fees include VAT (currently 17%) for Israeli participants only.

Travel and accommodation costs are not covered by the registration fee.

Methods of Payment

Payments can be made either via bank transfer or via credit card. Confirmation of your credit card payment, along with registration confirmation, will be sent to you by email. If you do not receive confirmation of your registration within 14 business days after registration, please contact the Congress Secretariat. Payment must be made before the stated deadline that applies to your application.

Payment via Bank Transfer

Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant and should be paid at source in addition to the registration and accommodation costs. Participant’s Name/Last Name and Congress Name (as FEBS2017) must be indicated on the transaction receipt of the bank transfer. Following the payment, receipt of the transaction must be sent to the Congress Secretariat.

Payment via Credit Card

Visa, Eurocard or Mastercard are accepted for credit card payments, which can be made online during the registration process. The charge may be indicated in your credit card breakdown either as “Kenes Events” or “Kenes Israel”.

Registration Cancellation & Refund Policy

All registration cancellation requests should be sent to the Congress Secretariat in writing, in accordance with the details provided below, under "Congress Secretariat".

For cancellation requests received by Kenes on or before July 08, 2017, the full payment, less bank charges, will be refunded; for cancellation requests received by Kenes on and after July 09, 2017, the full amount will be charged and no refunds will be made. No cash refunds will be made for the credit card payments in the case of cancellation.

Travel Insurance

You should seek and follow the advice of your government before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress and before travelling to the event. You are solely responsible for making your own appropriate travel and other insurance arrangements before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress.

Modification and Cancellation of the Congress

FEBS, ISBMB and the Congress Secretariat reserve the right to modify the Congress programme, which is published as an indication only.

In the event of cancellation of the Congress, at any time, as a result of any event of 'force majeure' or for other reasons that are beyond the control of FEBS, ISBMB and/or Kenes, the registration fee shall be refunded but neither FEBS nor the ISMBM or Kenes shall be held liable for any other costs or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, financial losses, etc. 

Disclaimer and ‘force majeure’

Neither FEBS nor the ISBMB or Kenes shall be responsible for any bodily injury/death or property damages (including theft) sustained by participants during the Congress, unless such damages are a direct result of the negligent or unlawful act or omission thereof.

In any event, neither FEBS nor the ISBMB or Kenes accept liability for damages in the event of bodily injury/death, property damage, disruption to travel plans and costs incurred as a result of ‘force majeure’.  ‘Force majeure’ (or ‘Act of God’) reasons include but are not limited to: war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, health risks, fire and closure of airports or airspace. 

Registration and Information at the Congress

During the Congress, there will be a Registration Desk within the Congress Venue for on-site registrations and distribution of the name badges, as well as for assisting participants with other on-site queries.

Governing law

Any dispute resulting from the above terms and conditions will be subject to Israeli law, and by accepting these terms you are submitting yourself to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, Merkaz or Jerusalem Districts in Israel.

FEBS uses income from the journals to fund its diverse activities, including support for the FEBS Congress.
